Arshile Gorky: New York – Yerevan. New Acquisition. The National Gallery of Armenia warmly invites everyone on April 30 at 6:30 PM to attend the ceremonial presentation of a work by Arshile Gorky and a guided tour of the exhibition "Arshile Gorky: New York – Yerevan. New Acquisition." For the first time, the Government of Armenia has acquired — using state funds — the artwork "Untitled" (circa 1944) by the world-renowned Armenian-American artist Arshile Gorky (Vostanik Adoyan) from the prestigious Sotheby's auction house. Created in the mid-1940s, this drawing is Gorky's first — and still the only — painting held in Armenian museums, showcasing the artist's distinctive use of color and form. The work will be presented in an expanded exhibition format. For the first time, Arshile Gorky will be displayed alongside Armenian and diaspora artists influenced by his work, offering a unique opportunity to highlight the deep connections between Gorky and the development of Armenian art. The evening's guided tour will also feature virtual reality (VR) technology, presenting the stages of the master's artistic evolution in three-dimensional format.
