Armenian contractors and home services in Sherman Oaks: construction, roofing, HVAC, electrical and more.
Sherman Oaks has more Armenian home-services listings than it has of anything else, which tracks with the housing stock. A lot of these are mid-century houses on hillside lots, and that means roofing, drainage, HVAC and foundation work rather than new builds. Several of the contractors here work the whole south Valley from Studio City to Encino.
Ask for the CSLB licence number and check it yourself at the California State License Board site. It takes a minute and shows classification, status and complaints. California requires a licence above five hundred dollars in combined labour and materials. Confirm liability insurance and, if they have employees, workers compensation, because without it an injury on your property lands on you.
If your house is on a slope, anything touching drainage, retaining walls or the foundation almost certainly needs a permit and often an engineer. Ask explicitly who pulls the permit and whether it is in the estimate. Never pay more than ten percent or a thousand dollars up front, whichever is less, which is the legal cap in California, and tie the rest to completed stages.
