Gyms, fitness studios, pilates and wellness centers in Yerevan.
Yerevan’s fitness scene has grown quickly, helped along by the number of remote workers and repatriates who arrived over the past few years and expected somewhere to train. The result is a mix of large commercial gyms and small studios running classes, most of them in the centre and most of them cheaper than the equivalent abroad.
Many gyms sell day and week passes rather than requiring a membership, which is worth asking about directly since it is not always advertised. Hotel gyms in Yerevan are generally small, so a nearby pass is often the better option for a stay of more than a few days. Class schedules are frequently posted only on Instagram rather than a website, which is normal here and not a sign of a casual operation.
Monthly memberships are inexpensive by Western standards and most places will do three and six month terms. Ask whether classes are included or charged separately, since that varies a lot. For a personal trainer, ask which languages they coach in, as English and Russian are common but not universal.
