Tattoo artists and studios in Yerevan, including Armenian script, khachkar and traditional ornament.
Yerevan has an unusually deep tattoo scene for a city its size, and a good share of it caters to diaspora visitors getting Armenian work done in Armenia. If you are going to carry Armenian script permanently, having it done by an artist who reads the language in the city the language comes from is a reasonable thing to want.
This is the single best argument for getting it here rather than abroad. Artists in Yerevan read what they are inking. Still, bring the text written out, ask the artist to write it back and confirm it before anything starts, and decide between classical and reformed orthography rather than leaving it to chance. Mistakes in a script you cannot read are permanent and obvious to everyone who can.
Book before you fly. The known artists in Yerevan run waiting lists and a walk-in on a Tuesday is not a plan. Allow healing time inside your trip: no swimming at Sevan, no long sun exposure, no hot springs for a couple of weeks, which rules out a fair bit of the standard itinerary if you get it on day one. Many visitors book the session for the end of the trip for exactly that reason.
