Sevan is the Armenian community organisation of Sochi, founded on 16 November 1989, registered in 2003 and part of the Union of Armenians of Russia since 2009, chaired by Stepan Kagosyan. It runs an Armenian school and a Sunday school at the church on Plastunskaya Street, publishes the newspaper Sevan and supports dance and song ensembles. The organisation puts the Armenian population of greater Sochi at more than 100,000, among the largest concentrations in Russia.
