About
Founded in 1980, the Armenian Rugs Society works to represent, support and preserve Armenian woven arts. It mounts exhibitions of traditional Armenian rugs and textiles, publishes research, and runs conferences on Armenian carpet traditions, including documentation of rugs woven by genocide survivors and orphans. It also supports village level rug making training programs in Armenia that have taught more than 400 learners across nine villages.
