Shant is the Crescenta Valley chapter of Homenetmen, the Armenian General Athletic Union and Scouts, serving families in La Crescenta and Montrose. On the athletic side it fields basketball and soccer, adds the Shant Academy basketball program and athletic camps, and enters tournaments. Armenian scouting runs alongside the sports, with summer and winter scout camps for members. Because athletics and scouting sit under one chapter, brothers and sisters often end up in different programs at the same club.
