Manoukian Brothers is the oldest family-owned handmade rug dealer in the Washington, DC area, founded in 1922 by a family that fled the Armenian Genocide and rebuilt in the capital. Three generations later the business is run by Mikael Manoukian from a showroom in Arlington, Virginia. The inventory runs from Afghan and Persian pieces to traditional, contemporary and flat-weave rugs, and the shop also takes on cleaning, repair and restoration work and supplies rug pads.
