Tarzana Armenian Grocery & Deli has been on Ventura Boulevard since 1972 and calls itself the home of the original pita wrap. It was founded by Vartouhi, known as Mama Rose, and Mesrob Chelebian, Armenian immigrants from Kessab in Syria, and their granddaughter Danielle Hairabedian runs it today. There is a retail grocery section alongside the sandwich counter.
