The Ararat Sports and Cultural Complex in Vanak, Tehran, is owned by the Armenian Cultural Ararat Organization, one of the largest Iranian Armenian associations. Founded in 1944, the complex offers football, indoor basketball courts, two swimming pools, tennis, badminton, rock climbing and billiards, and it houses a sports museum. Signage is in Armenian script and Armenian is the everyday language on site, so the complex works as a community space as much as a sports centre. For Tehran's Armenians it is the central address for sport, recreation and gathering. Members and visitors arrange access through the Armenian Cultural Ararat Organization.
