Hagopian World of Rugs has been a fixture in metro Detroit since 1939 and is one of the largest rug retailers in the United States. The late Edgar Hagopian, a leader of the Armenian-American community in Detroit, grew the family business, and his children run it today. The Birmingham showroom carries Oriental and area rugs, and the company also operates a large rug and carpet cleaning service with additional locations across the Detroit area.
