Arevik is an Armenian folk dance ensemble maintained by the Hamazkayin chapter of Sao Paulo. The chapter offers free Armenian dance classes to young people aged 9 to 17, so cost is not a barrier for families who want their children dancing. Sao Paulo holds the largest Armenian community in Brazil, concentrated in neighbourhoods where Armenian churches, schools and associations have stood for generations. Arevik gives its young members the folk repertoire and a group to perform it with. Enquiries go to hamazkayinsp@gmail.com or through the chapter on Instagram.
