The Providence chapter of Homenetmen, the Armenian General Athletic Union and Scouts, serves the Armenian community of Rhode Island. It fields boys' and girls' basketball teams and runs a scout troop whose members have taken part in the Armenia Jamboree. The chapter hosted the 2024 Navasartian Games, the annual Homenetmen competition that brings chapters from across the eastern United States together. Basketball and scouting are the two pillars of Homenetmen everywhere, pairing competitive sport with Armenian language, history and camp life. Families in and around Providence can join through the chapter, which takes part in the Homenetmen Eastern USA Region programme.
