About
Surb Hambardzum, the Church of the Holy Ascension, serves Chaltyr, the largest of the Don Armenian villages and the administrative centre of the Myasnikovsky district of Rostov Oblast. The village was founded by Armenians resettled from Crimea in 1779 and keeps its own Armenian dialect and traditions. The parish belongs to the Diocese of New Nakhichevan and Russia.
