About

Surb Khach, the Church of the Holy Cross, was built between 1786 and 1792 and consecrated on 27 November 1792 as the monastery of the Armenian settlers of Nor Nakhichevan. It is the oldest surviving building in Rostov-on-Don and a federal cultural heritage monument. Closed in 1931 and used as a museum from 1972, it was returned to the Armenian Apostolic Church in 2007 and is again an active parish of the Diocese of New Nakhichevan and Russia under Ter Tadeos Terteryan.
