Tufenkian Avan Dzoraget stands on the Debed river gorge in Lori Province, one of four properties in the Tufenkian Heritage chain founded by Armenian-American rug designer James Tufenkian. The rooms are built from local basalt and wool and furnished with Tufenkian carpets, and the hotel has its own restaurant. It makes a base for the Debed canyon monasteries at Haghpat and Sanahin.
