Sasun is Hamazkayin's specialised dance chapter in Sydney. It began in 2000 as the Hamazkayin Sydney Dance Group and took the name Sasun in April 2015. The chapter runs two Armenian folk dance groups, combining instruction with performance at community and cultural events. Dance is one of the clearest ways Armenian communities abroad keep their heritage visible, and Sasun gives Sydney dancers a serious place to learn repertoire and technique. Hamazkayin, the Armenian cultural and educational association, lists the chapter on its Australia regional page, which is the starting point for anyone wanting to join or book a performance.
