Homenetmen of New Jersey is the state's chapter of the Armenian General Athletic Union and Scouts. Its programme covers athletics, scouting and camping trips, the mix that has defined Homenetmen in Armenian communities worldwide. The chapter marked its fiftieth anniversary with coverage in the Armenian Weekly, and it hosted the 31st Homenetmen Eastern US Navasartian Games, with competition in soccer, basketball, volleyball, chess and track. For Armenian families in New Jersey it is both a sports club and a youth movement, where Armenian language and identity are carried through team play and camp.
