The New York chapter of Homenetmen, the Armenian General Athletic Union and Scouts, serves Armenian families in the city. Its programme pairs athletics with scouting, the two halves of Homenetmen work wherever the movement operates. The chapter is one of those competing at the 32nd Navasartian Games as part of the Homenetmen Eastern USA Region, which brings chapters from across the region together each year for team and individual events. For young Armenians in New York it is a way to train and compete while keeping Armenian language and friendships alive. Joining is arranged through the chapter and the Eastern USA Region.
