Arek is the children's and youth theatre school of Hamazkayin Lebanon, founded in Beirut in 1999. It offers drama classes for children and theatre training for young people, teaching performance in Armenian. Theatre has a particular value in diaspora education, since learning a role means reading, memorizing and speaking Armenian with an audience listening. The school serves Armenian families in Beirut and its suburbs and works beside Hamazkayin Lebanon's dance, choral and music institutions in the city. Information about the school is published on the Hamazkayin Lebanon regional page.
